Beginning with a rude awakening as the party was ambushed in their sleep by a raiding party of Gregorian Goblins. These fanatical creatures are members of a widespread cult across the Flanaess who observe the bizarre and painful rite of Stabbing Tuesday; true to their faith, they ensured every party member, except one, received a ritualistic puncture to commemorate the day. After fending off the "holy" assault and nursing their new wounds, the party headed to the town square to speak with Constable Derris. The constable, weary from the constant badgering of the local loggers and merchants, officially deputized the group to handle the escalating crisis. He tasked them with scouting the fringes of the Gnarly Woods to gather concrete intelligence on the bandits' organization, their hidden camps, and whoever is pulling the strings of the local lawlessness.
In the first session, the party arrived at the bustling border town of Narwell, the dust of the long road a familiar companion. Desperate for a warm meal, they found refuge in the "Rusty Dragon" tavern, where the air was thick with the rich aroma of stew. They were warmly greeted by the stoic but friendly bartender, Jophrey, and his wife, Vanessa, a sharp-witted barmaid who deftly managed the rowdy crowd. As they ate, their peaceful moment was interrupted by a clamor near the front; a vocal group of farmers, loggers, and merchants were passionately airing their grievances to a harried constable, recounting tales of caravan hijackings and brazen attacks by bandits within the shadows of the nearby Gnarly Woods.
